As part of our weather exploration, we created a thermometer (of sorts) with household objects. It was all very technical and we’ll likely be giving The Weather Channel a run for their money very soon. 😉
It was pretty amazing to see that this creation really did respond to various temperatures. Marvel for a moment at how our thermometer reacted to being placed in hot water.
Of course, we went on to test the thermometer in a variety of settings. It finally landed outside where it cheerfully let us know that the weather was warm, but not quite as warm as nearly boiling water. 😉
This was super-easy to make…it only required some clay, a small plastic jar, a straw, and some water with food coloring added. 🙂
