A while ago I wrote a book review for Divergent, a great book by Veronica Roth. It was about a teenager and her life in the world of the factions. This is the review of Insurgent, the next book in the series, as promised. I hope you enjoy.
Tris Prior recently transferred from her Abnegation home for the life of the Dauntless. While there, she finds her friends under a type of mind control, known as a simulation. Only she and a few others, known as the Divergent, cannot be controlled. While being controlled, Tris’s friends went to Abnegation and killed many of their leaders. Tris finds that the person who did this to all those people was Jeanine, the leader of the Erudite.
Tris and her friends must go to Jeanine and find out why she is doing this. But is it that simple? What if this is just the beginning? Find out in Insurgent.
My favorite character in this book is still Tris, because of how strong she is. She has trained herself to forget about grief and to focus on the task at hand.
This book is just as good as the first and I love it just as much. A few of my friends might like the first one better and some the second.
