Today’s Arabic

Standard

Today in Arabic we looked at the alphabet.  We stopped using the book and started using the iTouch.  We are just looking at Arabic apps that show you the alphabet.  I’m not getting very far, but it’s fun to learn.  My favorite word so far is zoob-da.  It means butter.  We found it in the Arabic book.  I thought it meant something weird, but butter is even better. I love Arabic!!:-D

Today’s Stuff – July 15

Standard

Today in class I learned that in colonial times, children had to have very good table manners, and that girls only got to learn how to read and write.  My favorite was Arabic, because Emily made Arabic flash cards that smell like beef  jerkey.  Weather took longer today, making a weather chart must take time.  Math was the hardest, we were learning about fractions and decimals, and how to compare them.  But no matter what, homeschool is still awesome.

Learning Is Fun

Standard

Today was a short day, but it was still fun.  I didn’t know that fractions are division, and I didn’t know how to compare decimals. But I do now!  I also learned that in colonial times, babies wore pillows around their waists to keep them from getting hurt.  The pillows were called puddings.:-)  Oh, and just one more thing. learning Arabic is HARD.
