Okay, this is the last installment of this week’s “Week in Pictures.” Later in the week, we’ll be moving on to some non-beach-related items from a couple of weeks ago. Next week, we’ll be starting up again…this time, we tackle 6th grade. 😀
The second installment of our pictures from the week. This set is mostly Ocracoke and goofing off. 🙂
Since I took 90 gigatons of pictures over the past 8 or 9 days(it is my way), I’ve decided to break up The Week in Pictures into 2 or 3 segments. Here’s the first batch…aquarium, Hatteras Lighthouse, and goofing around at the beach house.

While on Ocracoke, we visited another lighthouse. We couldn’t climb this one, so the views weren’t nearly as majestic…or scary. 😉 We also made a new muskrat friend…we’ve named him Herman. 😀
One of the things that Grace was looking forward to the very most on our trip to the Outer Banks was the British Cemetery on Ocracoke. She had a vision of standing on English soil (which the British Cemetery officially is) and demanding a scone, so we stopped for scones before we headed out…you know, to be ready. 🙂
No beach trip is complete without going out to the beach at night to observe crabs! 🙂
Yesterday we decided a climb up the Hatteras Lighthouse sounded like a great idea. After hauling our rear ends up a gazillion steps, we were met with a magnificent view. I’m terrified of heights, so I mostly clung to the wall and peeked around. Grace and her daddy were quite a bit bolder. 🙂
No trip to the Outer Banks could be complete without an aquarium visit, so, yesterday, we hopped in the car and headed up Highway 12 to Manteo. The aquarium has a fabulous exhibit about rescuing and rehabilitating injured turtles. We were able to scan, diagnose, treat, rehabilitate, and release our (plastic) turtle. Of course, there were also some real turtles for observation. I’ll post more aquarium pictures on another day…today is all about the turtles. 😉
